Progressive Collapse Examples

Outside of the cases of the 2001 WTC attack and the 1995 OKC bombing, examples of progressive collapses of steel-frames or steel-reinforced-concrete structures are rare

1987 collapse of L'Ambiance Plaza is cited as example of total progressive collapse. Unlike the WTC skyscrapers, L'Ambiance Plaza:

• Was under construction, employing temporary structures
• Violated design specifications
• Left rubble with recognizable floor slabs
• Did not produce an explosion and dust cloud on collapsing
