Hiding Engineering History

Yes, normally buildings are evacuated before being demolished!

NIST doesn't tell you:

  • No skyscraper in North America has ever collapsed, except from controlled demolition.
  • No steel-framed high-rise has ever totally collapsed, except from earthquakes or controlled demolition.

NIST's Report avoids mentioning historical incidents, such as the responses of other large buildings to severe fires or earthquakes.
